Bollywood superstar is all set to don the role of Mumtaz Mahal, the
favourite wife of Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in a mega film about the Taj Mahal-India’s crowning glory. Oscar-winning actor Sir Ben Kingsley will be producing the $30m film and also play the role of Emperor Shah Jahan. Bollywood actress and former model, Bipasha Basu, will be playing a rendition of Shah Jahan’s daughter, Jahanara in the yet to be named flick. Rai, 33, is now filming Pink Panther 2, starring Steve Martin, Andy Garcia, Jean Reno and John Cleese. The former Miss Universe has been featured on the cover of Time magazine as Bollywood’s leading lady and has been interviewed by Oprah Winfrey and David Letterman. The beautiful actress is special because she can play different ages and ethnicities with élan and this maker many producers and director think of her in a wide spectrum of roles.
